want to thank you all for confusing the hell out of me. I used to think that temperature was something that could be measured. Now it doesn’t seem to matter whether the nominal temperature is in farenheit or centigrade, with a supplementary optional positive or negative twist. Down here in Australia we used to say that we don’t have weather, we ony have climate, but now I don’t know even where they’ve hidden that. The Y2K apocalypse folly at least had a cut-off date. When do we get to the end of this horrible warm period that’s causing all the cold.
Future sociologists are going to write PhDs about our era - about how we rediscovered mediaeval superstitions and transfered them onto something we used to call science.
Thank you all for doing all that valuable (and entertaining) slog work. This lurker really appreciates it.
